Focas Group Evaluation

A big way we got ideas for our thriller beginning we made a focus group where we explained out 3 ideas to another group of people and then asked what they thought about them. We got back very helpful comments and they helped us decide what we needed to changed on our opening. The other group told us that they liked our first idea the most but we had to shoot it in a certain way to make it look good and entertaining. We will take all of the points given by the other group when filming to make our film the best we can.

Proposal

Proposal
Prepared by
Rosie, Kyle & Billy

In our Thriller we will film an exctiting starting to a thriller movie. This starting will make the viewers want to watch the rest of the film to see what is going on. We will include a variety of different shots, such as fast pased shots and pan shots over the roof tops of Dagenham. Our Thriller will play on the viewers mind as you wont actually see what is happeing on the screen there will just be voices and music over our shots...this will be better and more exciting fot the viewer as they would usually create their own image in their heads, these images are usually worse than what is happening on the screen... Our thriller will leave the viewers wondering what will happen next!

Focus Group

This way my focus group to discuss our ideas, we made plans to make our thriller the best it can be and with some constructive criticism we hope to achieve the perfect product.

Preliminary Task

we had a few problems with the sound, hope you enjoy!

Thriller Soundtrack

This is the song I am going to use for my thriller entrance, this is a song that was released by Machine Gun Kelly independently from his on label so there fore there is no copy right infringement. It's quite a sinister beat with a good bass line while will correlate with the films genre. This action/UK thriller entrance will be improved by the addition of this music.

What Is A 'Montage'?

A montage is a group of clips from different un-coordinated parts, that join together to make one. They show a series of actions over time, the series of clips will therefore deliver a message to the audience. There are a few different options for how to write a montage in screenplay form.
One of the first uses of 'Montages' in cinema is by Luv Kuleshov. He was amongst the first to use a 'brick by brick' layering system. This became popular and the way its worth was proved was by a Russian Director that conducted an experiment. He took an old film clip of a head shot of a noted Russian actor and inter-cut the shot with different images.

Red Herrings

A red herring is a diversion or a lie used to manipulate the audience from the original plan. Red herrings are often seen in films, games, and puzzles.
In films, a red herring can often be found in Alfred Hitchcock films like Psycho, where characters turn out to be anything but what the viewer expects them to be. It controls the views assumptions and can literally make them believes the plot is about something when it isn't.

Enigmas

Enigmas:
An enigma is when a person, thing, or situation that is mysterious, puzzling, or ambiguous, the situation may be explained as inexplicable.

Rope

Rope - Alfred Hitchcock

Rope is another Hitchcock film that has a great element of suspense. The film is a 'What if film' that is based on a true story. The film tells the story of Phillip and Brandon, two young killers, (inspired no doubt by Leopold and Loeb) This is one of Hitchcocks best films where the two men strangle their class mate and then invite their friends and relatives to a dinner party where they assess the 'perfection' of their crime through the film they are  dropping clues and daring guests to grow more suspicious of their jests and the man who has failed to make an appearance. The question is do they get caught?
